Hi guys,

I finally got a home hifi to listen to with my headphones. I have a NAD C300 int. amp and C540 CD Player.

I purchased HD580 and HD595 to compare. And I prefer the more open and detailed sound of the HD580, plus they are MUCH more comfortable than the HD595! The 595s I got are 50ohm, and 580s are 300ohm.

The only thing with the 580s is that the bass and beat sound louder than the vocals, so if I really want to hear the vocals at a nice 'singing right in front of me' sound, I have turn the volume up more than desired. My ears hurt after a while.

And advice/opinions most appreciated.

the rule of eq is to lower before you raise the frequencies, so try to lower the bass around the 60-120 hz. that should do the trick, or get a dedicated headphone amp with characteristics that you are after. I'm not too sure of the amp that you would want but I'm sure some one here can guide you to your desired sound. Good luck
