If you had a choice for a portable rig.

HD580's -->$160
ATH-ESW9's --> $165
DR150's -- 150

The best deal I've seen on the ESW9's for a legit seller, is about $230 new. These would be my choice for unamped or amped with a penguin. I have the ESW10's, and they are outstanding unamped from an iPod and iPhone. Better with my Pico, but not as much as you'd think. The 580's on the other hand, sound "sorta good" unamped, MUCH better with my Pico, and they left me knowing that they were still not amped to their potential. I have no experience with the DR150's.

ESW9 and 10s are the best portable headphones I've heard, and neither require an amp to sound good. I'm not familiar with the DR150s, and the 580s require a decent home amp at minimum to bring out their best.

My only problem is the non detachable cables as I am pretty ruff on the cables.

I'm going through the process of checking it tomorrow.
Going to look for the blue coil.
