X2. The price of media is ridiculous, and is a huge factor in my thinking about abandoning HD players for now.

i was really pointing to the fact that there is 2 competing formats that
are not compatable and all the movies are not available on both had just
one format came out all the popular movies and all current new movies
i think more people would have bought one myself included so like many
others i am waiting i do not need a new doorstop.

oh, the heated BD vs. HD DVD debate!!!

My take is HD DVD will win eventually. They are a lot more cheaper to make, has an huge advantage in early adoption, but their studio support just recently has become rosey. But their Dual-format disk could be a really killer for themselves by messing with their key advantage, the price. What are Toshiba execs thinking?

Another is world wide market. I know ALL movies on Blu-ray are available in HD DVD except the good U. S. of A.

China has officiall announced they will use a similar HD DVD format. So the big picture defninitely shows HD DVD will win out.

just my 2 cents.

Yes. And that's sad! I've told people about SACD and they just give me a blank stare. SA-what? Geez.
I guess knowing about the audio formats makes me an audio geek. Fine! (actually, I'm proud!)
