My somewhat more than 2 year old (i.e. past warranty) HD600s have a shorted transducer.

Anyway, no warranty, need Senn to fix. Anyone have any idea how much this'll cost? Friend at electronics lab verified there is a short, says transducer needs to be replaced.

So I guess one of the diaphrams needs to be replaced? Here's a link to the element you'll need http://shop.sennheiserusa.com/retail...categ=Elements . It's $79.99. If you think you'll need to replace both it may be cheaper to find a pair of hd580s and pull the drivers out of them.

Thanks, HF! Only one ear seems to be kaput. Just as well, as the repair parts are (unsurprisingly) not all that cheap!!
