That's what I'm experiencing now as I just got them. Can I expect them to mellow out a little?
HD-580s slightly bright before burn-in?

Um, I think it might just be that your amp isn't driving them properly because the 580s aren't bright headphones.

I figured that could be it too. I have them running out of my Onkyo receiver which powers them fine volume-wise, but I guess it might not be powering them properly. I will be getting my Go-Vibe back in a few days from an opamp switch and then I'll try that.

I see the PX100 in your sig. It's been a while since I've had my PX100 or heard the hd580 burn-in process, but I would say the hd580 will always sound *slightly* bright next to a PX100.
