your listening experience, my New E500's sound like crap because my ears are all plugged up.. losing a lot of low end and the highs seem like they are so bright, ugh cant wait for this to pass..

I can get the left ear to pop and clear up for a while but the right is a no go..

Seriously...I've been having a really bad cold for two weeks running now, and I just got my ER4P/S. Talk about no bass at all!

he said April is around the corner meaning it's coming up

I happen to have bad allergies my nose and my ears have felt pretty plugged up I want to go back and get my ears cleaned from my ears nose and throat specialist.

I don't let it bug me :p o man but my left ear is hurting so bad when i open my mouth wide and and eating thinking maybe it's because of the IEM. think my left opening of my ear is smaller than my right one as it's much easier to get one into my right ear.

Great to read these comments! I've just come through a grim "productive" cold and my E4Gs sounded *dismal* when it was at its height - like above, no bass, no clarity - I thought they were faulty...turns out it was just my ear/nose/throat to blame!

i just went through a long cold, 2 weeks long. right on my spring break too. probably was something more serious though. my right ear was stopped. something was swollen inside from mucus buildup. sucked. didn't even bother to put my grado's on. still sick now but the ear thing is gone and feel like it's leaving me.

Does the nose/ear thing affect only IEM users, or is it just more noticeable when on IEMs?
Anyway, I get blocked nose/ears a few times every week, chronic rhinitis. And the strange thing is, usually, my right ear stays blocked much longer than the left. L/R imbalance is a damned put-off.

I would think its possible to affect IEM users more because of the isolation, easier to notice when something isn't right.. it sounds like you have a bad seal.

I had a really bad head cold most of February which greatly diminished my upper frequency hearing, esp in my right ear. I was amazed how much better my system sounded once it finally cleared up.

It goes to show how much physiological changes can affect our ability to perceive things.

My Wife is looking forward to allergy season. She understands that when I'm stuffy and can't hear as well as I'd like, that I tend to figure "What the heck, can't hear anyway" and just take my heart medication on time since the tinnitus it induces won't make much of a difference in my hearing regardless.
