Someone compared the sound quality of these to the new Audio-Technica ATH-PG1 headset which i'm looking into buying: http://audio-technica.com.au/products/ath-pg1/

I'm wondering whether anyone has had any experience with the ATH-PRO5MK3's? Any reviews? I can't find anything about them.

Interesting. At first I thought they were just a rebrand of the m40x or m50x. A little research and I think they are much more bass-heavy incarnation of the AT line. Where the m50x is one of the better well balanced studio monitor style phones, the ATH-PRO5MK3 may be more for bass lovers.

So if you are a major basshead, I'd say go for it. I'd be interested in seeing a review.

I tried them at Audio-Technica's showroom in Taipei today. The sound is a sharp V shape with lots of bass and treble. I found the treble harsh and sibilant while the bass bloated. I didn't like the sound over all.

Thanks! Can you compare them to any of the current audio-technica range?

I didn't try that many headphones at the showroom (mainly checked out the MSR7 and some IEMs) but the Pro500MK2 sounded cleaner though still a bassy headphone. M50x and M40x are more flat.
