I live in the midrange!
I've been trying to find out about this product, which is listed on the Oppo website, but has received very little attention so far.  It's a DAC from a company that's done well re) price/value IMHO, and it's also a BALANCED headphone amp too!

Anyone heard anything?  Pricepoint?  Projected release date (other than "2014")?

Thanks, I did see that just the other day.  It looks sturdy and well-made.  :)

You can see wires (AWG 30 or 32) running on PCB.

Just stumbled upon this on the Oppo website as well.  Looks interesting.  Just hope it's fairly priced.  As in, much less than the similar Fostex HP-A8C is at $2000.  Right around $1000 would be nice.  The insides certainly look heavy duty though.

Just found this picture from the AKG K812 thread. Virtual power gauges - I like! :)

It looks like both an analog and digital preamp, accepting balanced or single ended inputs and providing the same for outputs.  I have been tracking this as best I can and I don't recall any good source on pricing as of yet, so I wouldn't jump to any conclusions.  But it looks like the following:

1) Just about any digital input you can think of, including USB and blue tooth...
2) Single ended or balanced analog inputs
3) Single ended 1/4" TRS or balanced 4pin headphone jacks
4) Normal or high gain switch for headphone amp
5) Analog volume control, probably a remote control as well
6) No digital output
7) Single ended or balanced analog outputs
8) Most likely variable analog outputs, but if there is a way to fix them at a set level to just be a DAC that would be cool (but not needed in my opinion, variable makes more sense for this product)

Best set of pics I have seen so far are here:

I was also waiting for this, but two days ago I saw this new DSD DAC from Matrix and I had to order one. Price only £324! Maybe I'll upgrade to this later... :)

It looks very nice, specially the silver one, it has the Yulong looks, but the screen seems to do a bit more with the audio spectrum display, not to mention balanced and single output on the front.
And of course the ESS 9018.
