The Toshiba Gigabeat, the iriver Hxx0 series (and the ipod 4G) all were available only with up to 40GB harddisk capacity.

All of these have a 50 pin ATA type adapter, and although an 80GB harddisk with that specification is actually available it is rare and really pricy.

The solution to upgrade any of the above mentioned players with hdds up to 100GB is an adapter found here.

So far I only have a 60GB ZIF disk available, but this disk on the above adapter works in all of the devices.

The next step is to source a 100GB MK1011GAH and build myself a 100GB Gigabeat F100!

A PDF explaining the procedure can be found here
and this is how it looks with my Gigabeat F40:

The Zif disks are a tiny bit shorter then the ATA disks.
Of course the fit is not 100%, and i wouldn't want to throw the modded player around with as much abandon as a new one within warranty

I have just ordered another adapter and two 100GB disks, one for my Gigabeat and one for my iriver H120 - soon to be H1000.
On the iriver it does only fit when I take out the battery since the disk in the H120 is only 5mm, but the H14o already has a 8mm disk.
