I had to make the same decision and picked the 2X-S. Why? There is an audiologist nearby that takes care of everything: mold, shipping to sensaphonics, receiving from sensaphonics (inlcuding instructions how to insert, take care of the) and customer service for remold etc (I got lucky and didn't need the customer service! Great fit the first time.). If she was selling the UE-10, I would have gone for the UE.

Reading the posts here, you cannot go wrong with either one. So my advice is get the one most convenient for you to get. If there is a reputable UE (or Sensaphonics) audiologist in your area, I would go to that audiologist. If they are both hard to get or both easy to get, I would go for the cheaper one.

This is the only time I've seen a comparison between the UE-10 and the ES3.

The poster is obviously a lurker, but its still a comparison between the two. With the recent rise in popularity of the UM2, I'm surprised no one has decided to try out the ES3. I don't plan on going custom IEM for a couple years, (I hope

) so someone else needs to jump the gun on these
