The male guy made a very short rant about how audiophiles (AKA you guys out there) spend way too much time worrying about the quality of the music instead of connecting emotionally with the music. And he said that they probably all have crappy taste in music because they're using all their concentration on finding the best sounding music instead of just enjoying it.

I'm just the messenger

Wait.... Did Kirosia post something serious....without any double meaning?

Something is seriously wrong...

The only low bitrate songs I have are popular dance music and are used strictly for parties. Does anyone intently listing to Snoop, Beyonce, etc?

I intently listen to some of that mainstream stuff such as Kanye West and such because i actually really enjoy it. However most of it is FLAC, although I must confess I do have a few albums (those R&B / Dance) compliations shown on TV, and they are terrible 128kbs but as Germania said, those generally only come out for parties.. But on topic, this guy is dumb, and I wouldn't just want to set his lawn on fire

Eh, who cares?

Emotional connection to the music is enjoyable. Geeking out with a soldering iron is enjoyable. Those are not mutually exclusive.

the moment you try to rationalize this hobby..it ceases to exist.

musical experience is not objective

Cnet is pretty much a joke in itself.

Well look at Fitz, he's a prime example in my opinion.

Eh? With headphones, I listen to the K240 Sextett ~75% of the time specifically because it lets me focus solely on the music in a non-analytical way... how does that make me a prime example?

Yeah, seriously. I think funniecow should use Patrick82 as the example instead.
