I streamed both with an LG and my iphone/ipad (all wired connections) until I bought Zen Stream a few months ago. There was a definite bump in performance with the Zen Stream, and having Tidal Connect makes it a slam dunk for me.
just to understand, do you mean that before you were like this <lg phone directly to gustard u18 and then to the dac> and after <lg phone to zen stream to gustard u18 and to the dac> or you mean instead <lg phone to ifi zen stream and the dac>?if i understand well the second chain i wrote is yours and it's better then the first? a second question : could you stream qobuz in zen stream?

No. If I remember right, that post was in response to someone who was wondering if performance would improve if he used a streamer with Tidal Connect or another app, vs going through his Android phone. I answered because I had at one time used both the LG and an iphone > Schiit Bifrost2 > pre/power amps. The phones were connected to the DAC via AQ Carbon USB. My point was that when I bought the ZenStream, the quality of sound improved a lot. Never had a U18, and now I stream via JPlay to the R26 via LAN (fiber converters blabla) and it's the best I've heard to date. I don't know if that's helpful. To the second question, there isn't a Qobuz Connect unfortunately, so you have to use a third party UPnP app, like JPlay or Mconnect (ios), or Bubble UPnP (Android), unless you want to go all the way to ROON, then you're sitting pretty because the ZS is a ROON endpoint.

Hello everyone,
Short question - I know this has been asked before but... so many posts...

My short question :

Can the R26 software updates (both kinds) be applied with an Apple Computer ?
Or is a Windows PC needed ?

Thank you

Hello Mickey,
But that is precisely the point... I do not want to install a virtual Windows on my Mac, just for the sake of upgrading R26.

So, my question is exactly this :

Can a Mac computer natively do the R26 upgrades (both kinds), WITHOUT Windows emulation ?

Hi,
for people who care about Tidal connect and are new to Linux, I have prepared an update made in accordance with the How to install and run TIDAL Connect on your Gustard R26 published on GitHub. This file is the patched official 1.4 firmware version cloned from my R26. From 2 weeks I'm using the official Tidal app and Gustard R26 TIDAL connect is visible in the list of devices and works with MQA and 192k sampling rate max. The file is a bit bigger but I tested it by flashing the card using Balena Etcher and it works fine on my Gustard R26. So if someone doesn't want to wait for the official update, below is a link to my firmware fix. Just unzip and flash microSD card.

Hello everyone, I'm new here and wanted to say hello first. Today I received R26. I immediately did a firmware update + tidal connect. Tidal Connect works with iPhone. Unfortunately, it does not work with android phones. I tried three different models. Do you have that too?

Welcome to the forums!

Think this is still Beta so things to polish. Why not change to UPnP AV in your R26 and use BubbleUPnP on your android device to access Tidal or your local/networked files?

I bought those but thw fiber cable doesnt fit. There is metall in the second connector side.
What am i doing wrong?
Do you mean the metal bar that partially covers the fiber port on the SFP? That is a lever, which you must flip up to plugh in the fiber, and then down to lock the fiber in place.
