You must install LMS first, the install and setup the "app", it's a plugin for the server. There are plugins for Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz, info about tracks, lyrics, similar artists etc and seamless integration of online music services like they are local. Plus more. The LMS forum is at https://forums.slimdevices.comWhat's the name of the app?

Sadly Synology has stopped supporting LMS after their DSM 7 update. So no go for me. They have "Media Server" that can act as a UPnP/DLNA server. But its another app/layer like LMS. Unlike BubbleUPnP just ONE app for everything. Just as @BShaw has said... will try to live with it (for now).
Thanks for the suggestion BTW.

There are several. I use Orange Squeeze. Some like controlling it with the web browser app and open the local server IP with a special skin called Material. So what is the name of the Android app for controlling LMS on a server?

For the first time I see that the LAN cable is connected to the PC. All logic tells you to connect directly to the router.

I have experience only with the xe cards and they are excellent! My system also has the audiophile motherboard from sotm and runs on a lpsu. So it is an entire chain of hi end digital. Also, don't forget that I use a u18 into the jcat card. So a lot of variables here. Marcin of jcat recommended I plug the dac directly into the jcat card and ditch the lan. YMMV.I'm on the fence about upgrading from the JCAT femto USB to the XE or going the LAN route with this DAC, would like to know which has better dividends.

Anyone here care to comment on the DSD Direct function? Does this send the stream from the dsd chip to the analogue outputs or does it go thru the ladders?

DSD direct and the PCM NOS both bypass the internal filters and send the digital signal straight to the ladder which then is processed into an analog singal and outputted via RCA / XLR. My preference is to make use of the filters but to each their own in this hobby. I find sending files direct to the ladder results in a muddier sound in my set up. The one bonus I can percieve with my set up is that small performances such as a singer and their guitar alone on the stage become incredibly realistic and intimate.Anyone here care to comment on the DSD Direct function? Does this send the stream from the dsd chip to the analogue outputs or does it go thru the ladders?

It is amazing that after 3 rave youtube reviews, 90 pages of discussion here, we still don't know the kind of resistors used with this r2r dac. If it is so good, could we assume Gustard uses 0.005% presicion to get almost the same performance than Aquarius or Venus dac?
Mine is the the mail from China but I am going to open it for sure.

It seems the youtube reviewers weren't measuring anything. Just talking a lot. If they're in series you'd be able to measure them all and report back. Or just write to Gustard and ask.It is amazing that after 3 rave youtube reviews, 90 pages of discussion here, we still don't know the kind of resistors used with this r2r dac. Already tried that without return. It could be intellectual property by Gustard?
