Ok, new coupler arrived and it shows similar treble roll off after 10kHz.
In actual listening, yes GT12 sounds a bit more intimate and/or slightly dark compared to the SE series, but I actually enjoy this tuning more for the modern pop, rock and hip-hop. So smooth and soothing
Also I gotta remember GT12 was only $250 vs $950 (SE12) yet it has same 4 x Sonion vented bass drivers. The parts alone cost $100 for those drivers!
And I can confirm the GT12’s bass performance is simply phenomenal for all BA setup.
I am comparing the GT12 and the IMR Astra tonight…
For the curious-minded, I've written a short review of the SE12. It may be short, but took me almost a month to conclusively formulate my opinion after a multiple changes in opinion (due to an incredible cable and source sensitivity).
I know cable is a sensitive topic, but the SE12 is the only iem to have given me such a puzzling experience after a numerous change in sound signature through cable changes. For those who are willing, I encourage to experiment with sources.
To @tgx78 and any future owners of the SE12, I recommend trying out my EQ to see if this may help attenuate the massive bass-boost and bring an overall balance.
The "Resolution" should be set to "1.00 oct" on the Spectrum analyzer.
If you have the time, please do indulge yourself with a read!
Thank you!

I suspect that if any IEM for a given product segment will feature source or cable sensitivity, I think one of the sets from GS Audio would do it. They're generally quite sensitive and relatively low impedance.

I’ve been messing around all day with ear tips for my Gs Audio SD9 about 40 sets in all then I put on the ORANGE ONES YOU GET WITH THE CHEAP SONY MH755 large.
Wow the sound went to a completely different tier fantastic.
My rig just for info

Is that the narrow bore ear tips?
How is the timbre and coherency of the SD9, by the way?
I listen to a wide variety of music like EDM, jazz, classic rock, movie OST and classical music, so I'm curious on how these perform with such genres.
