GS Audio Impressions Thread

I finally found my peace with ST10 with an ear tip that has a wide 6mm bore, thin skin(bass boost type), and very short and shallow 5mm-nozzle, and with DUNU SA6’s stock cable, ST10 rolled to my another routine IEMs when in need an engaging Sonion bass-mid, and extreme SWFK separations —not to VX level of ultimate resolutions— this ST10 comes in handy handling more engaging and well textured bass to lower-mid, a warm mid-focused IEM.

I have similar set up with DUNU Studio SA6, it seems this type of tips works well with Sonion’s AcuPass bass BAs.

I’m planning to go the GT series next, the GT12. Will report back to see how it turns out.

From what the reviews have said regarding the GT12, it's a good IEM for the money. I do absolutely adore the granite-like faceplate.

I'm not sure it'll have quite the treble gain up to 10kHz that you'll want, but they do have better than average extension as a whole.

Yea it looks quite rolled off, but as far as I can tell from ST10, it’s an acceptable level, especially in differentiating itself from rest of my other treble experts like Monarch/VX👍 I’m actually intended to gift GT12 to my friend for a long term listening IEM, too much treble can sometime cause discomfort✌️ For that case ST10 is very very soft and comfortable set to listen to, mainly due to Sonion BAs handling most of frequencies other than super tweeters.

An interesting comparison case. Mids should be more forward with less obvious mid-treble gain. Compared to the rest of the FR range, the upper treble extension is more rolled off on the GT12, but not as much compared to the treble.

I definitely like the DD bass (for example the one from TSMR Land) very much. At the top it is more important that it does not "screech" than how extended it is. At least according to how I listen. I am afraid that the GS is qualitatively a little below the TSMR Spark.
Time to test Mest Mk2 fully burned with right tips😀
I’ll lend you ASAP Bro☺️

You understood why I sent him Land before Mest Mk2?!?😜
Land keep many things from Mest Mk2 but latter is better in anyway and I bet should pair good with his LPGT for his taste.
Tomorrow I’ll listen them together but I’m pretty sure on this.

GD3B arrived!

I have given it VERY limited listening.

First impressions:
  • Good but not overwhelming. Certainly good at the price.
  • Comfort restricted by angled 2 pin, but I expect capable of a great fit after the cable swap
  • Much warmer overall than I had expected. Makes me wonder what the 3A must be like?
  • Sub bass a little weak, despite overall subtle warmth
  • Smooth and inoffensive

You may notice an improvement in the sub-bass performance with additional use. It took my GD7B about 12 hours to really loosen up, and 30 hours before I noticed that they had fully stabilized, but your mileage may vary.

After staying with ST10 well over a week, I'm starting to get what GS Audio wanted to do.
It's a Diffusion Field target with added 10khz+ floor, as well as an elevated bass floor.
Of which, the bass floor is north of ordinary level, not as much as KZ AST basshead level, but still north of typical Harman curve, which I suggest to tame it.

But overall, ST10's sound signature reminds me of etymotics-on steroid, a pretty addictive tuning!

-Not recommended for your "all-rounder" or "first IEM to play"
-Recommendable as "one of the collections of your creative libraries" with very Diffusion field, highly resolving, with basshead happy high bass floor IEM

Oh let me add, given that elevated bass, the bass quality is very very good, speaking of quality, it's not far from similar BA bass-driven Anole VX, SA6, both use high-end BA woofers, which also apply to ST10's Sonion 38 AcuPass bass woofer.

The treble tweeters of Knowles SWFK (4BA) are also extremely resolving, in terms of quality, besides the main character of this IEM, the midrange (4BA by Sonion)

Overall, it's a very soft-sounding IEM with a wide diffusion field, the tonality is Sonion-based, and super tweeters are that of high-end Knowles SWFKs you will find in those kilo bucks IEMs.

Does the ST8B have the smallest stage out of all 4?
Sorry for the slow response been working doubles of late. So I made a goof while writing and did not double check some things. The ST6A/B has the smallest soundstage of the group
I would put the soundstage at ST10>ST8≈GD3>>ST6A>≈B
I shall edit the other post when I get back in later tonight

I finally cracked and ordered an SD9 in an SE12's clothing, yikes! :grimacing:

I think I now have the same setup as you do!
The cable and AZLA tips came in this week. Great fit with the tips. The cable is super nice, but bordering on too thick / heavy.

Just finished scoring ST10: A-Grade
-With DUNU SA6's cable & wide bore shallow nozzle thin skin bass tip

Super technical, but the bass floor is too high and interupting it's diffusion field, treble response is basically DF neutral and 10khz+ got pretty nice air presentation to further assist the diffusions.
