I've been trying to contact Justin Wilson of Headamp.com for the past two or three weeks, but I've yet to receive any word from him at all. Odd, since he's always been quick to his feet with emails.

Anyway, I've got some questions regarding the GS-1 that I'm hoping the good folks of Headfi can answer since Justin's been curiously absent.

I currently own an HD600 and an HF-1... one's 300ohms and the other's 32ohms. If I plug the two cans into the two headphone outs of the GS-1, am I right to assume that they'll be playing at fairly different volumes? If this is true, is there any way at all around this?

Also, I read in this thread (http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f5/six...linear-278691/) that "New modules are in the works for an all-new custom circuit with a MOSFET output stage and hopefully we'll see them next year."

I've been unable to find any information regarding this statement. Have these new modules been implemented, and if they haven't, should I bother waiting for them to be?

I was also wondering what other amp I should be looking at with my current cans (and possibly a future Denon D5000) in the 500-900USD range. The GS-1 suits my bill fairly well particularly because, like my Gilmore Lite, it has a loop out function which I use for multimedia speakers. Can anybody please advise what other amps I should be looking at?

I owned a GS-1 from early last year till a couple of months before the end of last year. The statement regarding "new modules in the works for an all-new custom circuit with a MOSFET output stage" were around already and had been for some time.

There were enquiries after that (from myself and other GS-1 owners) but I do not believe there was much hope for getting them anytime soon. I unfortunately do not think that situation has changed

HD600 and HF-1 plugged in at the same time would be playing at different volumes. The only good way around this is to use a separate amp for each headphone.

New modules are on hold until some new transistors are released by a niche company. Unfortunately, some of the best parts for discrete solid-state amps have started to go the way of tubes the past few years

Thanks for the reply xenithon and Justin. Looks like I might sit on the GS-1 for a while then.

Use an inline volume attenuator.
