But by FAR the best rock voice is Freddy Mercury.
Other honorable mentions: Todd Rundgren, Steven Tyler, Robert Plant, the "group singing" in Pink Floyd, Kurt Cobain (Not necessarily GOOD, but unique)

Don't laugh but I thought Michael Hutchence of INXS did a good job. Maybe not the best (especially since Sting beat him out for best male vocalist of 1987, what gives?) but hey not bad. Now that he's gone, they're even holding a contest to see who will replace him - i think the show is called "Rock Star."
