Another surprising discovery I made in Audio Cubes is that the SR125s are plastic! From the pictures I assumed it was black metal but no!

So which Grado models use metal and not plastic?

The 325i's are in a metal housing. The higher end Grados RS2, RS1, and GS-1K are wood.

The HP1000 series are the only all-metal Grado AFAIK.

Of the current Grado line-up, only the SR-325 has metal housing. The rest are either plastic (SR-series) or wood (RS-series).

p.s. Aluminium is a metal, progo.

What's wrong with plastic? AFAIK the HD650 and K701 are mostly plastic as well and they don't sound too shabby. If you really want to get picky the drivers of the 325i are still housed in plastic and only the back of the cups are metal.

They're the best dynamic phones I've ever heard. The current prices are a little bit prohibitive, but IMO they're leaps and bouds above the present Grado line-up.
