woh.. nice and not overly done. as in oversized cups. guess I like e woody to be of a darker shade to somehow match e headbands alittle.

Most importantly hows the sound? warmer?

Nice mod... I am not a fan of light woods... Give me a nice deep cherry or something and I will fall in love but yea a very clean job on your part ;P

Those are quite the beautiful Grados. If the wood was just a touch darker, I think it would look even better. More importantly, how do they sound?

Not making them for sale.
Used a drill press circle cutter:
00925293000

(not my picture)
Cut 2 round slugs 2 1/4" OD Gives a bit for sanding.
Cut 2" hole exact ID down 5/8 left 1/8 for outside lip.
Moved blade inward 1 blade thickness and repeated again stopping 5/8 down.
Repeated until had 1 1/2 " OD Turned slug over and cut through remaining whole. Its important to start from the outside and work in to keep the pilot bit centered.

With it now being all wood, it looks much better than previously. I still think that if you used darker wood that it would look better, but it still looks very fine.
