Already clearcoated maybe I can buff It out with beewax.
I goofed it up a bit put the slots for cord on the wrong side. So it will have a slot on the top also. Maybe I'll use it as an excuse to single side the phones.
edit:I must have subconsciously wanted to singleside the phones. Thats my lie and I'm sticking to it.

Looks good. I have a walnut blank I've been wanting to turn into new cups for my HF-1. Keep up the good work.

I would second the recommendation of tung oil, though. It won't really give much of a sheen but it does add a little depth to the color of the maple that can then get the final finish of your choice. Here is a pic of the 325s I did with maple that has a few coats of tung oil and 3 coats of lacquer. It really brought out the grain.

Could you please buy a better digicam? :p
As far as I can see, it seems to look quite good
A question about the mesh... is that the standard grado plastic mesh you're using? Some other mesh could help the sound a bit (less hindrance to the air)

Oh, and have you done a sound comparison yet?

Been looking for good camera. My pda does not take good close pictures. The mesh is metal painted black harvested from speaker grill. Not much difference sound wise. Maybe a bit wider soundstage. Need to get can of air have a bit of gratle now. The real reason I did this mod was not for sound or appearance I was bored and looking for an excuse play with my drill press.
