I am looking at any of the Grado Prestige series. (SRxxx). Which one would you recommend? Which is the best value? I'm not a true audiophile, but I do appreciate good sounding "clean" and strong bass and fairly articulate highs. (As a musician, I can certainly tell the difference between strong bass and good bass.) For this reason I am leaning toward the SR80. I am also going to mostly use this with a 1/8" jack, so the 1/4" with the SR125 is big, I would need the adapter.

EDIT: Also considering the Alessandro MS1. Anyone have experience with these?

Genres of music: Classical, rock, electronica

Movies: All, I do watch some action so some punch is great, but from what I hear, all of the Grados have plenty of it. (Wow, what a run-on. As one that some call a grammar fiend, this is disgraceful...)

Alessandro MS1, and up the line to MS2i or RS2.

Let your wallet do the talking...

You can get new Grado SR125s for around that price. Very pleased with mine.

The standard grado recommendations are the MS1 and the SR225. I haven't heard the MS1s, but the 225s can be had used for around $150, and are among my favorite headphones. Easily the best value around.

The sr225's with an adapter are all you need. They have great bass and great highs. They are more resolved than the sr80's too.

I triple that! (except that I would go for RS1 instead of RS2, but that's another discussion

SR225's are spoken of pretty highly in the forums here for folks looking for value/bass in the Grado lineup. Either you love or hate the Grado sound. Try them out first (if you can).

I've owned SR60, SR325i, and Alessandro MS2i's. The MS2i's have been my favorite headphone for the last year...

I have had 80's,225's, and 325i's and I liked the 225's the best and currently own a pair.
