I was possibly looking to get one of these for use with my iPod video 5th gen and laptop. I will also be using them with my Fiio E17

I listen to a variety of music but mainly indie rock.

Which ones would you recommend?

Thanks

Ma900!! Much better than the k701 and sr225i. They're also the most comfortable cans in the world!!!

Don't know about the hd598 though.

Here's a comparison:

Plus vs ad900x:

All of those headphones are open or semi-open designs - will you use the ipod outdoors with these headphones?
If so, you should look for a closed-back.

No i will be using these indoors only.

I can't help thinking that the akg's being £150 more than the sennheisers means that they should be better. Can you confirm you have heard both and still prefer the hd 598's?

Thanks for the response

Between the Senn and AKG that's a tough choice. Both great headphones.
On amazon the price difference is £35 - £205 vs £169 - not sure where you found that price difference.

Oh my bad i was meant to say Q701 not K. My mistake.
Does that make a difference?

They measure almost identically, but the biggest difference is THD - the Q701 is basically identical to the K701 but they've tweaked an already brilliant driver near to it's own perfection.
Some say there's a difference in the sound, and others just agree it's a marketing gimmick and a few tweaks.

I'd say if you chose the AKG, go for the K701. The Q probably isn't worth the price.
But if you can, compare it to the Sennheiser in a shop - two quite different headphones to consider.
