Interesting discussion. I just got the RS2e and I also have the 225e.

I'd be interested in your comparison in at least a couple of weeks, after they have had time to run-in. Thank you for letting me know.
I've had both the original 325i and 225i, and I found I kept reaching for 225i much more. 325i was crazy harsh. Haven't heard the e-series yet, I would hope those kept 90% of the original sound signatures.
For me, PS500 is the only Grado I have kept.
Would the original 325i be the gold one? I think they say that was the most harsh Grado ever.
I suppose we should consider trying to add GH-1 to the 225e>upgrade possibilities, but they get rarer.

The PS 500 is the only dark Grado that I have heard--and I have heard almost all that have been put out in the last 6 years and a few earlier ones.
I had a silver 325i -- I lasted about a week with it.
On my side I got rid of the RS2e (too bright) and the GH1 (overkill) and I'm back with the 225e. (with the tape mod.)
The 225e are really the sweet spot.
I haven't heard any e series yet, other than 80e, which I did not like -- I still think the 80i was a great sleeper HP for its price, along with 60i. If there's only one that tickles my curiosity, it would be the 500e, given that I really enjoy my 500.
