I love the look of these. I like woody cans.

I'm actually on holiday in South America at the moment, but I got an email from Grado Labs about these so I came here to see if there is any discussion about them. I'll be very interested in reviews when they come.

I can't see me buying another pair of cans for quite some time. I'm extremely happy with my three Grados. However these certainly look great!

Will see what folks at CanJam are going to say about it, from my understanding S950 is using the same driver as HP100, but has walnut cups. Very tempting to find out how this type of wood actually sounds, especially with a new so-called S-driver. Also it will be very interesting to discover what kind of sound signature these headphones can offer and how new drivers are tuned according to walnut acoustic properties.

It will also be interesting to see wether it’s a full wood body or a hybrid a la GS3000x.
My local dealer will get them in, so I’ll be able to compare with my HP100 next month or so.
Really like the look…

Here is impressions from CanJam by Siburning:
Grado Signature S950 was slightly warm but energetic. I really like them. The surprise was the HP100SE which I found more balanced and especially nice for classical music. On the down side, they're also a bit harsh and a bit heavy which, perhaps oddly, affected how they fit more than how heavy they felt.

@Redd House I will be patiently waiting for your expertise, kind sir, since you're among the first ones who ordered this model.

P.S: Here is some inspirational photo.

Where is everyone buying their Grados? I'm in the market for a 100 or 950. Do you buy local or direct?

Love that walnut look. I'm using the GS3000e.

Depends on where you are I think. I prefer to buy local whenever possible though (in EU I can’t buy from Grado directly, but forgo online shops in general). I want to keep my local shop alive that has so many models available for trying out myself…

I’m so happy with my vintage around 1999 Grado RS1’s. But these new cans peak my interest so will have to audition them when I get the chance.
Buttoned RS1 is absolutely delightful pair of phones, one of the best Grados ever made if not the best.

I’m everything if not in a rush about buying new headphones, but these are on the list… at least for a try out. Very happy to see Grado sticking with the wooden cups, despite the HP100SE, which was/is an easy pass due to its weight on top of the bulky build…
