I just bought a pair of GR01 and I can't help but notice the static 'zzz' sounds I am hearing during the high trebles of some of my fav piano pieces.

Does this mean that my earphones are suitable for this kind of music or is my music just too poorly recorded which is resulting in this static zzz sound?

By the way, I have uploaded one of my songs at http://picosong.com/33eA/

what is your source? i'd say either bad source or bad recording.

static hiss and distortion on certain notes - poor recording, no doubt... I was psyched out too when my speakers gave out distortion on some schubert recordings and turned out that everything distorted on that piece. the recording was so poor, that every time I heard it I thought that the driver was blown or something :D

Yup, this recording is most likely taken off some very old vinyl or even wax cylinder recording.
The artifact is caused by the needle skipping, overload on recording or mastering and the hiss source is obviously the recording.

The precision is good enough though to hear pedals and keys being pressed. (granted, that's with equalized SE-5)
