Its been a cruel past 2 months as i sat around twiddling my thumbs, waiting for my vintage RS1s ( now not so vintage ) to return ( i blew the right driver. )

Plugged into my toob-rolled Cayin HA1A it reminded me why i am a Grado fan all over again. The AKG 701s are collecting dust. The MS2is have been sold. The 8k speaker rig is being ignored.

I dunno, there's just something very very special about the RS1s. All grado fans ought to try it. I still reckon they sound better than the GS1ks, which i have heard at length.

The older drivers sounded ( iirc ) more relaxed and abit smoother, but given that these are brand new drivers i would say they need serious run in first before i do any comparisions.

Terrific customer service!

I love my RS-1s as well and though I don't listen to them as much as I should - just too many damn headphones!

The vintage RS series is a really fine looking phone in my opinion, just exudes class.

The look of your cans can never be "replaced", which is awesome. After some time breaking in the cans, the new drivers may grow on you. Great looking phone, the vintage RS.
Congrats on getting yours back, in time for the h

Congrats!

I know that wait as well, was about 2 months for mine to have the cable replaced. Pity, as the old cable was about 3 feet longer it reached around my room better

Congrats on getting those back! The RS-1 is the only headphone that grabbed me immediately and made me love it. All the others revealed themselves gradually.

Glad to hear that they came safely home to you! Did you got the flats? or are you considering bowls?

I'm absolutely love the vintage rs-1's and as they are well overpriced, i think they are well worth their high price!
