He mainly listens to electronic music with good rich bass and clear vocals. he also listens to hip hop and bach/mozart etc..
 
He uses a macbook air. Preferably closed over ear headphones. I know he does not like for people to hear what he listens too.
 
Budget is up to $700 for headphones. $300 for dac/amp. Must be able to run on macbook air latest edition.

Not sure about the AMP/DAC but the Beyerdynamic dt770 250 ohm would be a good choice for closed headphones.
