Actually about the specktone knob,
they look just like what AMB uses on his projects
and he told me what he used
Aluminium Diecast, 1.5" diameter, 0.63" height, 1/4" round shaft knob
Mouser part # 450-3825
very light weight he says, so he filled up the back with epoxy resin to weight it
very nice looking tho

Did somebody say lit knob? Here is the custom one I built for my Pimeta.
(Tough photo to take. You try to balance a pic with an LED in it...

The knob is from Audiokit.it. Nice, heavy and beautiful polished aluminium!

The knob is from THL Audio.

And he's very appreciative!

Hey,

Where do you get volume control like those?

That volume control is probably a digital rotary encoder, not a pot. I'm pretty sure that knob is plastic.

Where would you get it? You probably can't--unfortunately, I'd imagine a lot of stuff that's on consumer products these days is custom-designed.

I tried to make a backlit knob with plexi, I cut the shoulder first, then the outer cut. It doesn't look too bad. The knob is 40mm in dia. Thats an LED flashlight from the backside of the cardboard cutout...

douh' ... this knob looks really nice, vixr!
I think if you use a blue or green LED and reduce the current, so that it'l glow only a bit ... hmmmm ... fabulous!

Perhaps a little circuit that it'l fade in and out when you turn the amp on...
