I've been using the sound magic e10's for a few years now, I'm still pretty happy with them except the fits never been brilliant for me.

The default alternative tips appear to be comply tips but I love a good bargain and have a few quid spare in the paypal account.... So what cheap tips would you recommend I go for!?

I've got e10's sibling es18.And from reading other's impressions,it seems both of 'em are quite similiar (both shape of the housing & in SQ). 
From my experience the medium philip tips from she3580 works best for me.Bass although increases in quantity has more punch & texture,mids still retaining its forwardness and treble a little subdued which i find a little shouty with the stock tips.
Another alternative is the Sony Hybrids from mh1.Bass quantity remains the same but still has more punch and texture compared to the stock tips,mid and treble has the same impressions as with philip tips.I'd suggest you to go with these if you don't want the bass elevated.
