I´m looking good USB DAC/ Headphone Amp for headphones, active studio monitors and stereo integrated amplifier.

E-MU 0404 USB2.0 Soundcard
E-MU Systems - 0404 USB 2.0 - USB 2.0 Audio/MIDI Interface

Would be nice with descent headphone amplifier

I want one device that does it all..

I was not able to await any more so I ordered E-MU 0404 and Behringer B2030A Truth - Active studio monitors

What headphones (price range 300€) would you recommend with this 0404?

I will perhaps later buy the amplifier if I am not satisfied

M-Audio has some new headphones out for $150 usd. Depends on your tastes though. Price range?

I dont think the headphone amp on the 0404 coped well with my DT880's. I had to get a GS-1 to really bring them out.

HD595's are famous for not needing a great amp. Grados will work well too.

in my experience, the built-in amp of emu0404 was crap.
the built-in amp of diyeden svdac04 was a lot better at driving hd650 and dt990.
i also preferred the usb dac of svdac04 over emu0404.
however, emu0404 does have tons of other useful (not for me tho) features.

I'm listening through the 0404 / HD580 right now, and I think it sounds fine. But I am a bit tired so my listening is not on top. Come to think of it, some notes sound a bit sharp to my tired ears.

150€ for headphones and 150€ for amplifer? AKG K-601 and ?
100€ for headphones and 200€ for amplifer?

or should I use all for headphones AKG K 701
and buy the amplifier later..

Been doing a lot of comparing lately, trying to decide myself. Pico & Predator seem to be the best but for the $500 or so don't know if it's too much for my $200(Sr225's) I seen the iBasso D2 Viper, but they have been out of stock. For around $200 they seem they may be the one's for me if they ever become available.
