Ok I'm totally infatuated with what I'm surely incorrectly characterizing as a trashy Big Band sound. I'm thinking like Cab Calloway playing Minnie the Moocher. You know, something that would be right at home in a smokey saloon accessed by a back alley in the 1930's where men of poor character are making shady business deals with less than fair maidens "serving" them. Catch my drift? Anyone have any other recommendations on artists/albums/tracks that sound similar to this?

I duno if this is what you want, but Gene Krupa and his band are quite good, there are some tracks with Anita O'Day which are quite swingy and fun, very 1930s!
