And about the HDJ-1000 .. yesterday I went by a thread saying
the suggested retail price would go around USD199 ! So what's
with the USD800 ? I'm never going to buy some $1000
headphones to wear outside. No way. Plus I don't have that kind
of money to spend on 'em anyway

That person incorrectly thought that you referred to teh Grado HP1000s, as in HP-1, 2 or 3. Not the HPJ1000s you were referring to. The HP-1000s from Grado are often reguarded as the best dynamic headphones in the world, sometimes even better than Sony MDR-10s depending on who you talk to. They are no longer in production and can run that much.

You are referring to something totally different and it is way cool that they are much cheaper than the Grados.

Actually, I'm not considering buying some UR40's. They look pretty
good and are really cheap. I'm waiting on MacDEF's sound review
after he burned them in.. I'm hoping it's positive

So now I'm considering five headphones :

1) Pioneer HDJ-1000
2) Sony MDR-7509
3) KOSS UR-40
4) Beyer DT-770 Pro
5) Senn HD-280 Pro

Can anyone tell me if I made any wrong choices or can just point
me out which I should buy quality-wise.. Because they all look
pretty good to me

The beyer 770's are hard to drive properly and look kind of big to my eyes. Why arn't you considering the beyer 250-80's? And the sen 280's look horrible on peoples heads...

Hey, thanks for the adivse.

Would you happen to have a link for me on those DT-250-80's?
I have one for the DT-250 (I don't know if they are the same
or not.. Here's the link anyway) but not those.

Oh, and what does 'hard to drive properly' mean?

It means you need an amp to get good sound out of them because they need alot of power. That picture is the beryer dt250's.
