Hello!
I want to buy some good headphones for gaming (a lot BF4 online and single player shooters) with great soundstage, powerfull bass and great reproduction of mids and highs. I have 100-130 USD for this upgrade.
Actually i use CORSAIR Vengeance 1400 and i feel i want more for my in-game audio. The sound source is ASUS XONAR U7 external DAC/AMP.
I had Roccat KAVE 5.1,than TRITTON PC-510 HDA 5.1 and the sound signature from those and general soundstage was...a little poor at least, despite the 5.1 ch nice effect.
I'm seek of all that ''gaming'' marketing b******t that producers stick to their mediocre and expensive headsets.
So a nice quality stereo headphone with a dedicated mic is the way to go for me. I want 50-60 mm drivers, great soundstage, very good positional sound and stellar bass for my new cans. Take note that i have a big head,so the confort will be another important factor.
What is your choices, advices for this?

Nice soundstage, with dedicated mic built in under 130? Doesn't exist to my knowledge. Unless you meant you'll be getting a dedicated mic instead. Get a set of cans and a ModMic or a USB studio mic. I use a Q701 and ModMic for my gaming, but that's a little outside your budget. Soundstage under 130 is kind of tough. K240 Studio comes to mind but the bass isn't going to be heavy at all. You could try to find a used DT770 Pro, as that's closed, has heavy bass and very good soundstage for being a closed can.

OK,but for the Superlux HD 681 and HD 668B wich is better for soundstage/heavy-bass/positional audio? I found those very, very cheap and with a good customer feedback. As for the mic i'm gonna use Zalman clip-on.

668B is the one with some actual bass. The 681 will sound very thin by comparison. This is pretty easily verifiable with InnerFidelity's graphs. I'm not sure about soundstage of those two.

Well thats just not true, and reading graphs and providing insight without having listened isnt very helpful.

OP, the 681 is a basically a basshead can, it has tons of bass but also a disturbing amount of treble. It has a much wider soundstage than the 668b but the highs absolutely need EQ. The 668b has far less bass but also less treble, its analytical and neutral, not exactly great for gaming or music enjoyment really unless youre looking for that specific sound. Id recommend the HD681 EVO. It is kinda a mix between the two, with very deep bass and appropriate highs. Soundstage is good and detail retrieval is quite good as well. Its very cheap and is an outstanding value for gaming, movies and music. Great headphone IMO

681 EVO is better than both, but I'm pretty surprised to hear the 668B has less bass as I'm certain that it was designed to be the more fun of the 681 and 668B. Actually it is possible to rely on graphs most of the time, especially ones from the same site for a relative comparison in my experience. Regardless, EVO is the way to go.

Most gaming headsets are junk. The good ones that are headsets are overpriced. Unless you have some source that says those are awesome as written by someone who is familiar with audiophile headphones, it's probably no different than any other gaming headset: crap

I dont think certain means what you think it means. But no, its well documented the 681 is a full on vshape and the 668b is the cold, neutral one. Thus, graphs are worthless. Especially since theyre not always right and nothing beats actually listening yourself. Dunno anything about actual gaming headsets but if you really wanna spend more than you have to just do what everyone else does and get a Senn HD558. That seems to get positive reactions for gaming. I dont game but they are certainly good for music and movies.

When 3 sites in a row say it's the opposite of what you say, I'm inclined to believe it.

"The HD 688B has a warm tilt to it and to my ears was a significant improvement over the HD 681, which thinner sounding in comparison."

Whatever you say man, LOL.

I would go the AD700x route, which is a much larger soundstage can.

If you want a bit of a v shaped sound signature the takstar pro 80 is a good choice

For me, if you want good soundstage and positionning open headphone is the way to go. I'm considering getting a pair of Superlux HD681 Evo myself as an upgrade for my Steelseries Siberia v2, i hear good things about it everyday (better than previous HD681, even better than HD 668b..)

Can't tell you more about it, i'm in the same situation.

The HyperX Cloud is a rebrand of the Takstar Pro 80 though.

In terms of sound quality I think it's better than pretty much every Superlux model I own (681 EVO, 668B) but its fully sealed instead of semi-open.

There we go, I just wasn't familiar. That would make it pretty impressive, unless the soundstage suffers from being closed.

Well it suffers from the limitations of a closed headset (long-term comfort, smaller soundstage, less "airy" highs) but overall I think its the better headphone.

Great build quality too.
