Thanks alot for that.  It helps to have some reference.  I'm assuming you power it with the FiiO E11?

I use my Asus Xonar Essence STX and Yamaha RX-V671 A/V receiver to drive my ATH-A900X, not the perfect amplifiers for the ATH-A900X, but easiest.
I use to use my Fiio E11 with the ATH-A900X, but it was more to the E11 battery(s) discharged and recharged a few times.

I've owned E7/E9 and highly recommend it as a DAC/amp. Another DAC/amp to look at is Audinst MX-1. E7 as an amp by itself is quite anemic--it won't give you enough gain to put a grin on your face even with headphones that don't require amplification (HD25) or IEMs. I cannot emphasize enough the value of using an external DAC. Although I've never heard jitter from USB DACs, I can consistently hear audible EMI/RFI transients on nearly every sound card I've owned. A much better way is to use a USB DAC or connect TOSLINK to a proper amp.
