Has anyone tried any extension cables with the Beyer DT880s besides what comes with them? I couldn't find any reviews. I've read good things about DiMarzio Big Red and Sonic Horizon Hurricane extension cables. Just wondering if either of these or some other cable would mate well with the Beyers.

The best extension cable is...

moving your chair closer to your rig.

is better than:

To my ears the original extension cable is really good. Yes, it tames and smoothes the treble a little bit, but not dramatically. Don't expect any cable to sound neutral, there's always a certain effect, and the one with the stock extension cable is not bad at all -- the DT 880 still has enough treble left -- and may even prevent some graininess or sibilance resulting from a less than ideal system synergy.

I assume you all have the dt 880...If you dont mind i have a question to ask (off topic):

How do they compare to ety er4p/s? (assuming you have also heard etys...as far as soundstage, dynamics, mood, instrament placing, neutrality, etc...)

Thanks a lot!
