Jethro Tull and Moody Blues are CERTAINLY not forgotten!
I listen to those bands all the time, and I'm sure many others on this board do. Consistently great music during their pinnacle periods.

I'd like to add Oasis to the list.
(What's the Story)Morning Glory is one of the best albums of the 90s in my humble opinion.

Absolutely agree, top 10 of 1990's for sure. That thread called "100 ablums you should remove immediately" the moron author said to toss this..........what a fool he is!

Also the wonderful STONE ROSES collection "complete stone roses" the tracks preiously on early EPs like "sally cinnamon"
are just amazing on good stereo it will blow you away!

I'm glad to see the Moody Blues on some lists, as they are definitely my all time favorite band (by a long shot). I wouldn't say they're forgotten though. They're still touring. I saw them in March to a full crowd of probably 8000 or more, and I live in a relatively small city. I also have recently discovered The Nice (been an ELP fan for a long time), and I must say their instrumental stuff is really cool, although their vocal stuff is a little weird at times.

About 75% of the bands people are listing aren't forgotten by anyone. There may be some young people who never knew them to begin with, but forgotten?

Exactly who has forgotten about:
Kansas
Moody Blues
Rush
Van Morrison
Smashing Pumpkins
Jethro Tull
James Taylor
Deep Purple
Beach Boys...

That's only halfway through the first page. Not trying to rip on anyone here, but shouldn't we be listing smaller bands that fell by everyones memory wayside, instead of bands we like from the past? Like when (I think it was) Kellogg's Special K Berries Cereal commercial brought back Strawberry Letter 23 by the Brothers Johnson. It was a great reminder.

He he...yeah...

The guitarist was great. But the lyrics sucked.

Just listen to the Magicians Birthday.

For the prog-heads, check out Stephen Malkmus' sort-of-back-to-prog album "Pig Lib". I actually wouldn't make a big deal about the whole prog connection (though it's there), but so many reviewers have (made prog fun again, etc.), I wanted to pass it along.
