Is the Ember a better match than the Sunrise II?

 
Never tried the Sunrise II but I would imagine they are probably pretty similar. The Ember does throw slightly more power into a 32 Ohm load (and even more when moving up the load impedance range) plus it is easier to roll tubes with (no fudging around with bias or selecting 6/12V tubes).

To my surprise, the Soloist SL does a nice job with the LCD's and HE500.
of course, the original Soloist is way better.

meyner, just curious if you got the amp in yet and what you think of it with the HE-500 and LCD-2?
 
I am going through the same decision process right now, I really like the Soloist but I am worried maybe my Bifrost wouldnt be up to par with the rest of the chain.

As an owner of both, the Soloist is a big leap over the SL when using the LCD-3's. On the SL they lose a lot of their holographic layering and punch. With the TH600's there is not that much difference though.
