Heed Canamp has lots of admirers here. It is considered to be one of the best SS amps, which costs more than 300$.

But, though not mentioned as often as the counterpart, Gilmore lite is considered to be one of the best SS amps just for 299$. Just for looks, I think it beats canamp quite easily.

User opinions? Expert opinions? GL is much cheaper than Canamp!!!!

the Gilmore amps use a more modern design resulting in lower distortion and perhaps also greater transparency. The Heed Canamp is very old.

From a design and electronics standpoint, the Gilmore Lite is certainly more advanced. It doesn't hurt that it is a U.S. product either. I'm extremely skeptical that the Heed would perform as well as the Lite, given the differences in their designs. Hopefully I will hear a Heed at this weekend's meet to se for sure.

also, i don't think anyone's trying to say that these $300~ amps are some of the best ss amps. just damn good for the price.
