On sale until Feb. 25th. Not all are on sale, but the most expensive ones (the dual input FETs) are. There is a code that you need to enter (available on the website, look at the sale flyer pdf) in order to get the sale price. There are still a couple of trannies for the Dynahi that are cheaper at bdent.

Yeah, the online sale flyer doesn't have them in there. The mail flyer I got yesterday does, and expires after Feb. 25th. Use source code LD0205 on the online order form. An example: the 2SJ109 normally is $4.35 ea., sale price is $3.24 ea.

That one is the best deal of them all, so don't expect the same percentage off on the others. I'd have bdent's prices handy while you place an order to see the couple that are cheaper thru them.

And if one of you cleans them out before I order

Thanks for the heads up. Still hadn't replaced the transistors from when the first set got crushed.

That source code doesn't work. Say's it's invalid.

*Edit* Nevermind it worked after the third try. Weird. Not much of a discount, though. Well, better than nothing I suppose.

$4.35 to $3.24 isn't much of a discount? Whatever. Yeah, I know the rest of them aren't discounted as much (or at all, so I had suggested checking bdent's price, which I know is significantly lower on a couple of them). If you are only doing one amp, then not that big of deal, but does make it more affordable to bet enough of the FETs that you can be assured of a decent match.

I took a look at futurlec and they don't seem to carry them (2SJ109/2SK389/2SA1015/2SC185 were the ones I checked).

I suppose if you buy them by the hundreds, what a deal.

But for making a handful of amps, it gives about $16 discount out of spending nearly $150. So, the sale is meh. But I guess it's better than nothing.

Another thing. Is anyone else annoyed that MCM is the same "family" of "InOne" companies with Newark. Yet they don't carry the same things, and when you order there is no possible way to consolidate shipping? They share an almost identical style website, but other than the "InOne" crap, they are completely separate companies.

Does MCM have the same rip off shipping as Newark?

BDent lists 2SC3381BL and 2SC3381GR.

Which one to buy? Is there a difference, other than the "GR" one is a little cheaper?

How much does BDent's shipping usually run?

*Edit* LOL, it's a moot point. 2SC3381 costs more than double at BDent. You're right, Pars. There are pretty huge price differences between MCM and BDent. Guess I'll have to order from both of them.
PITA, but the price difference is large enough.

The BL has a hFE range of 350-700 and the GR has a hFE range of 200-400. The transistor complement is the 2SA1349 which BDENT and MCM had only BL grade. MCM had GR grade 2SC3381 so if you want all BL grade then you have to give BDENT the big bucks.

Uhh, yeah they do. I'll agree with you that doing business with MCM/Newark is a PITA. Last order I placed (before they would show shipping online), the shipping was as much or more than the 2 sets of FETs I got. As noted, all packed in a huge box when they could have thrown them in a 1st class envelope and saved me ten bucks. I bitched at one of their reps on the phone about it, LOL. All the FETs and BJTs I have gotten from them have been GR grade btw (I think Dip16amp noted this also).

futurlec don't actually list them on the site, you have to email them. they don't have 2sj109 and 2sk389. but for example:2sa1015 @ $0.10 each, 2sc1815 @ $0.07 each. the other prices i listed in my post further up. so what i'd do is order everything from there, then get the 2sj109/2sk389 from where ever. ive found a place in oz that sells them for less then mcm and bdent do stateside....

Only the 2SC3381 was GR grade from MCM. The 2SA1349, 2SJ109, and 2SK389 were all BL grade. The 2SA1145, 2SC2705, 2SA1358, and 2SC3421 were all Y grade.
