Gigawork DAC a good deal?

I have that. I used it for a few months before I finished my Y2.

its not a bad dac, really. lots of neat features.

build quality is not great. one of the usb traces lifted off (I did remove all jacks from the rear for a better case-mount of jacks, on my install).

if you want mine, let me know

I can fix the usb part if you want.

overall, for $100 ish, its not bad. the regulators get quite hot, though.

Hi!

Since you have experience with this dac could you answer some questions?
1. Linux compatibility?
2. Can I play hi-res files with that dac (24-bit/96kHz & more)? Under linux, of course

3. Still selling you gigawork dac?

Tnx,
Tomislav

Just bumping this as I also bought this DAC recently.

You can get the seller to sell you a complete version in a case with upgraded OPA627 for US$230 shipped. Seems like a good deal so I pulled the trigger.

Images of the case can be seen on this thread:
My new dac

Also, I believe the DAC has been upgraded a little since the OP was started. Toroidal power ditched for R-Trafo.
