Thank you for sending that along. If you get any more, please PM them to me.
@canthearyou - First, I'd like to thank you for letting me know about the pop-ups you're seeing. We do take these reports seriously.
I've been doing some searching, and since I noted that a couple of the reports you've made have cloudfront.net in the URL of the offending ad. I ran a few searches, and I've seen a number of pages discussing cloudfront.net pop-ups.
What version of the Android OS are you using, and on what device? The more information we have to investigate with, the better.
I don't currently have an Android device to test with to try and recreate the same use cases, but I have tried with my iPhone, and haven't seen any of the ads you've mentioned. Nevertheless, I am still on the lookout for any possible causes so that we can get this remedied.
Samsung Galaxy S8 running Android 7.0.
I have very, very few apps on this phone. All are from the Play Store and all scan clean/safe using the built-in Lookout security app.
Thank you for that information.
I only get these from this site. http://us.hemocyte376cu.xyz/u3101s/...1gnYhsOqbp2pc4lfiXWsoH0vgkTQ&p=1&s=1331499482
I've removed every non stock app from my phone. I did a complete cache flush of Chrome from safe mode.
Yeah, these pop ups are stupid. Hopefully we won’t have anything that could be downloaded automatically and do bitcoin work or hacking our system
@Whitigir - if you see another one, any screenshots, URLs and clickthrough URLs you can PM me would be helpful. I want to get these taken care of, and any more data would be appreciated.
I just clicked on this thread to read the most recent post and got this.
There is definitely something on this site that triggers the pop-up.
Is there a particular forum or thread you visit that you see these more frequently? I'm trying to track down the cause, but so far have been unable to.
Only this one. I am on Facebook multiple times throughout the day on the web page, not the app. I never, ever got a pop-up. I also open/visit a number of sites and don't get a pop-up.
I understand what you're saying. I'm just trying to see if a particular area of Head-Fi is generating these more often for you.
