I'm actually more eager to know how it is for IEMs... the original ZenDac had hissing issues and channel imbalance for some very sensitive IEMs... is this the same with V2?

Anyone know of a cheaper 4.4mm balanced dac? The original seems to be the only budget DAC for 4.4 balanced. I'm really wanting sony to make a desktop or portable dac that can run in desktop mode for 4.4mm balanced

Even if what you speak of does exist, you will be extremely hard-pressed to find any better value than the Zen DAC, in terms of sound quality and price. IMHO, of course.

Hmmm, might be a nice "all in one option" for my new Mac Mini M1. Would these drive ZMF properly? I mainly use those at my hifi rig, but might want to use them at my desk once in a while.

Not in the same league with ifi Zen, but Fiio Q3 is a decent dac
The one that might be in the same league is Xduoo XD-05 Balanced, but i forgot the price.

Oh the irony. Sorry you invested in MQA Ifi. Bad timing with all the controversy going on. I really like your gear though!
