Hi, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the German Maestro GMP 435s???

Stumbled across it when looking for a mixing can.

Comparing them to the likes of

DT880
K70x
HD600

Thanks

Carl

Back in the US I did a loan program with the GMP 435s, I think they're a great hps, and can be easily use for mixing. No amp needed @ 35 Ohms, as well the 435 are well balanced sounding hps. Here you go for more info: http://www.head-fi.org/t/438831/german-maestro-u-s-loan-program

Zombie X at ZX Amateur Cables got them and ended the this program, maybe he can share more light on this topic.

^^ Thanks man! The focusrite should do the trick for now, for the Mac platform the Apogee Duet, and the Mini DAC are a great options as well. I'm still using the Mini DAC on my PC, I just love the Apogee sound, both Apogee's have a good hps output, but still not as good as the SPL hps amps. Since the focusrite have some hps drive ability you can check out the HD-600 and the K702, and see what you'll like best.

How would you say the 435s stack up against the K702/HD600/DT880's?

I can get a pair of those 435s for £130 new. Which seems like a good deal compared to the DT880 at £185 and the K701 at £165

They stack well, especial if you drive them directly from your computer hps output. But since you already have the focusrite interface you can try a used K-702.

I have ended up buying the Shure SRH940's! Lol. I got a really good deal on them so couldn't resist. I look forward to trying them out, and I'm sure it won't be the last set of cans I buy. Still wanting a set of open/semi open backs.
