I have been running my hd-650's with an Xonar Essence stx for about 8 months now, and am still loving it. But I have been having that itch lately to pick up some new components. As the essence stx is solid state, I kind of want to try a tube amp. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on it, so I have been searching through craigslist to see what is for sale used. What I'm wondering is if it's reasonably safe to by audio equipment used. I saw a Little Dot mkiii for $125, which is a pretty good deal, but I just don't know if it's a wise way to go. Any general advice on the best way to dive into the tube amp world would be great.
