For two years, I had the Akg K702 and I liked them a lot. The K702 has excellent positional audio and everything sounds very clear, although I feel that they could have a little bit more bass.

I also have to say that I am not an audiophile. I have read many times that I need a good amp to drive the k702, so I bought the fiio e10 but I just can't hear a difference. Recently I also bought Bluetooth audio receiver which I use with the k702 because I hate cables and I also can't notice an difference.

I also liked how easy it was to fix issues with the k702, I re-soldered it a few times but it finally died.

Now I am looking for an alternative.

I am currently looking at the Sennheiser Hd598SR, which only cost 100€ in Germany. Do you think they will be a downgrade to my k702?

Are there any other alternatives that I should consider?

I also looked at the DT990 pro, but I don't like that the cable isn't detachable and it costs 60€ more.
