Hi!

My old Grundig Fineart amp just died and well, I need something cheap to replace it. I own Sennheiser HD580 and a Macbook Pro.

I am hesitating between a little dot MK1 directly from the analog out or, to pay a little more shipping and to get the now famous Zero Dac/Amp.

What do you guys think?

Thanks a lot!

BTW: I'm looking for a sub 200$ solution

The Zero, especially upgraded is a huge improvement over the sound of a Macbook Pro. Just get the upgraded version + better volume pot for now then later save up a few more dollars for the HDAM unit which is a quick self-install. You'll get a lot of mileage out of it down the track if you later decide to get a dedicated HP amp.

I guess Zero it will be.

How bad is the volume pot? I tried to find out from the zero DAC tread but with more that 200 pages...

Thanks a lot guys!
