In the same interview, the president of Ferrari, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo told Charlie Rose (something like that):
We were in California in the late 1950s and early 1960s and we want to be back.
First Ferrari GTO 250 California Spyder was produced in 1958.
Yes, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo kept his word. - Ferrari came back to California 50 years later.
The Ferrari California officially debuted last October (2008) during the 2008 Paris Auto Show.
By the way, a total of 125 cars - Ferrari GTO 250 California Spyder -
were made from 1958 to 1963, and they became the most prized Ferraris on the road.
The inspiration for this thread was provided by a review which appeared in Motor Trend, October, 2009.
