You can do better/cheaper not buying on amazon but again, do what you want, it's your money not mine. Why do people think Amazon is the only place to shop?

Then any link for cheaper price? :)

Because Amazon has better deals, better customer service and most importantly; a warranty.

God knows why someone would want someone's handy downs on here with none of the above.

Amazon all the way! 250 is an excellent price! Go for it.

I rather buy a new one, only $50 different with the used one. It is from warehouse deal - Very Good condition.

Which one? new or used(very good condition)...

TH-X00 crushes the M-100, but M-100 has more bass quantity. It seems that the guy wants quantity more than quality I presume, since the X2 is far from neutral but it doesn't have enough bass for him.

Between the X00 and 900, the difference isn't gargantuan, but the 900 has better bass for sure. The bass on the X00 is sort of mid-fi, but on the TH900 it's on a different level. Extremely low distortion, and the bass texture and definition is just better, tighter and not muddy at all unlike the X00. I have upgraded to the 900 from the X00 and that was what I found. There is no way that the X00 has better bass as the above poster mentioned. I actually find it baffling that he thinks 900 has worse bass than X00. I think he either hasn't heard the 900, or he likes muddier bass with more mid bass emphasis.

I have since sold the X00 and I'm left with the Omni and TH900.

Hi, do you feel that the Omni are a big step up from the X00's, as I've been eyeing up the Omni's for a little while and have heard that not only are the highs and mids nice, but that the bass is fantastic? Thanks

I was quite surprised to read M100 as a recommendation in TH-X00 thread.
I owned and sold M100, kept X2s instead. I don't say I didn't like M100, but It was too much of a compromise for me compared to X2s.
I mainly listen to different type of electronic music.
So bass is very important to me, but space and lifelike sound is equally important.
M100 does have slightly better bass than X2. Not a surprise, being closed back. But X2s have the space and much more lifelike than M100s.
I felt I make a small compromise on bass but having a bargain in all other attributes of sound with X2s. With M100 you might win a little bit on bass, but it sounds claustrophobic, artificial, kind of a weird soundstage compared to X2s.
I do like EDM on X2s. (With Mojo, have to add. Not from laptop or phone.)
And I can't wait to try X00s in May. :)

Ultrasone Pro900 also seems to be quite interesting. But for me it seems to be another M100, maybe more refined. Tell me if I am wrong.

EDIT: I could get PRO900 for £192 ($267) new including shipping. But If I had the same kind of experience as I had with M100, I would skip it. X00s are coming in a couple of months anyway.

I can give it a try soon. Pro900 will be shipped sooner. Two day shipping. And yes, I even can give Amazon back if Im no satisfied!

Yes, that's why i wonder to get Vmoda M100. It is different level to the X2, X00 and Pro900.

Glad that the user of M100 say that M100 is not good enough

M100s are very good for a bassy portable pair of headphones for £150.

But X2 and X00 are different league. (I also hope X00s are different league to X2s.)

I can't say about Pro900s, as I just read about them, never tried. But according to reviews they seem to be a better pair of M100s basically.

They sound very different from the M100's.

Keep in mind, they are known to take a LONG time for burn in. So if you strap them on real quick in the beginning and make you're decision based off that, then you might not be making a good choice. Another benefit (especially for pro 900) of buying used.

Thanks.
Did you hear M100? How you compare M100 to Pro900?

The highs on M100 are very different. They are really not extended and clear and pro 900 is very treble accentuated.

Bass on the M100 could get muddy and the soundstage was not the same.

Pro 900 has more aggression, more detail, it's got the ultrasone sound.

Best thing is to try them both and see for yourself. But they are not very comparable.

Plus, the M100 gets much warmer due to the pads, which are very good on the 900.

Thanks.
I find X2s to be much better than M100.
And I expect X00s to be even better than X2s.
So I don't really need Pro900s at the moment.
But if a friend of mine had one, I'd definitely give it a try.

Brock,

Actually - your post history looks like you are using LCD2.1's, HD650's and the aq nighthawks, to name a few.

These are bass and midcentric cans, with rather mellow highs

So, vince is spot on - you're not accustomed and probably highly dislike a v shaped headphone. Your other headphone preferences are polar opposite of that.

Do you like any headphone with a v shaped sound signature?
