What is the difference between the original TH-900 and this TH-900 mk2? Forgive me if this has been covered here already—please point me in the right direction if that's the case.

If I'm not wrong - officially, a detachable cable and a higher price.

I have only praise for this cable. I don't own any other balances cables, so I can't comment on the sound. Although these cans sound just right with this hybrid cable. But the build quality is simply top notch!

Which cable? Did they supply the connectors to the TH900MK2?

It is the Noir Hybrid cable (Silver+copper) produced by Audio ForzaWorks in Poland. They are using the connectors which are used by the Sennheiser HD600, they just switched the polarity.

They are not going all the way in, as my pictures are showing, but they are staying in. Not my area of expertise, sorry!

Yo guys. I have the Denon AH-D5000 and the dragonfly red. I am looking at the Fostex TH900 as a potential upgrade. What are your thoughts? I love my D5K, and don't want to sell them - but I do want to have a flagship with a similar "sound". Is the th900 for me you reckon?

Do you have any lower tier fostex/denon AH-X000 cans to compare them to? As previously mentioned I currently have the D5K, looking at a used pair of th900 for around 850$ (Norway is expensive)

I heard the Purple Hearts and the new Denon 7200. Th900 has better bass, wider sound stage and better seperation.
