I'll let the TH900's settle in for a few weeks, and then compare them to the LA7000's
 
I will say, after a quick 5 minute listen between the two, the TH900 is brighter while listening to my Nektar "Journey to the Centre of the Eye" sacd.The LA7000 / TH900  comparison is not universal though , because each pair is tuned differently according to the stated tastes submitted to Mark

I've been listening to these on the Eddie Current Balancing Act (using PX4's) and it's a terrific pairing.  The Burson Conductor's pretty good too if you want something a bit less nuanced but more immediately engaging (also 1/3rd the price of the ECBA and the DAC I'm using).

I have yet to try them with my Graham Slee Solo SRG II , which is SS.I know my LA7000 sound great with that amp, it seems to add a little more punch, but both amps have their unique qualities

As you can guess, I'm a man of few words at this very moment. Didn't survive a plane trip despite hand-carry.

There is a (technical/design) gap between the red cup and the black Headphone part.
I was checking 2 TH-900 until now and did realise, that the gap is different between left and right side.
Also on your pic, there is a gap. Feedback from other owners would be welcome.

This has been discussed previously here. It's the way the headphone is designed and not a manufacturing flaw. All TH900s have it.

Are you referring to the gap and that there is a silver rim present inside on one side?

No, I'm afraid I didn't make a note of the time... The OP noticed it on her pair as did other owners. It was established to their satisfaction that it was part of the design rather than a manufacturing defect, and now namaiki has confirmed it for you.
